Matzingen (Switzerland), November 9, 2024 – The Swiss technology platform Veripan opened its Bakery Innovation Center (BIC) yesterday, on the 8th of November 2024 in Matzingen. This new application center is an important milestone in Veripan’s over 30-year history of innovation in functional ingredients for the bakery industry.
With the BIC, Veripan aims not just to create a modern laboratory or showroom, but to provide flexibility and accessibility for its clients. Veripan is particularly proud of its “Plug-and-Run” concept, which allows customers to seamlessly integrate additional equipment at any time, enabling the development process to be tailored to real conditions and specific requirements. This enables clients to enhance their production processes with a focus on naturalness and sustainability, helping them stay at the forefront of emerging market trends and maintain their competitiveness.
Veripan has a longstanding history of innovation in sourdough solutions, exemplified by the PANATURA (www.panatura.com) range, dating back to the 2000s. Even then, Veripan anticipated the future of bread, recognizing a growing consumer demand for healthier, more flavorful products with clean and clear labels. Additionally, Veripan began focusing on the valorization of side streams—what is now known as ‘upcycling’—over 20 years ago, establishing itself as a pioneer in the bakery industry.
“Innovation, for us, means designing our processes flexibly, so that ideas can be implemented faster and more efficiently,” says Andreas Herzig, Innovation & Co-Creation Manager. This approach is essential in times when the availability of skilled labor and markets are changing.
Veripan aimed to create a ‘wow effect’—a captivating experience that leaves every visitor in awe upon entering the different spaces. The company believes that innovation must be both functional and consistently inspiring.
